UCC hold nerve in 2 wicket winning thriller
United Cricket Club vs Windies Cricket Club, 10-25-2009
Windies batted first on a slightly wet pitch. UCC bowlers restricted windies for 39 runs in first 10 overs. Windies came strong and scored quick runs to take their total to 119 runs in 20 overs. Sushant Kumar bowled an excellent spell of pure pace. UCC's openers started off with a bang as they took the score to 38 runs in just 4 overs, but lost 3 quick wickets just after the fireworks. Sushant Kumar murdered the windies bowlers as he was hitting the ball all around the ground. He scored 37 runs before getting out due to his back pain. Sajid Masood was the stand out player as he bowled on good length and scored fiery 26 runs to take UCC home in the last over of the game. This was probably the best effort by UCC as they were playing with only 4 regular players.
